Another academic year at Haverhill Public Schools has ended. Countless accomplishments and unforgettable moments have shaped our school community. Our students have worked hard throughout the year, and we are proud to share the highlights of the June celebrations.

Along with all the news of celebrations and experiences we have included some reminders for families:

  • If you have a child that will turn five by August 31, 2023, they are eligible for FREE all-day Kindergarten; visit our Registration Department page for more information and extended summer hours.
  • If you are a member of MassHealth, they have started the redetermination process; visit the District website for more information.
  • We still have some openings in our Summer Learning Program; visit the Summer Learning Opportunities page for more information.
  • Lastly, summer reading is significant in a child’s growth. We have gathered a great list of books in our 2023 Summer Reading List, and we hope you take advantage of this and share the love of reading with your child.

We hope you have an AMAZING summer full of adventures, memories, and relaxation!

CTE Healthcare Occupations

HHS CTE Healthcare Occupations students in grades 9-12 visited the Public Health Museum located in the historic Tewksbury Hospital Old Administration building. This annual field trip is part of the work-based learning experiences provided for CTE students. Students learned about the history of public health, which is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities, achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases. Thank you to the volunteers at the Public Health Museum for welcoming our students! For more information about the HHS Career Technical Education programs or their work-based learning activities, contact Lisa Hunt (lhunt@haverhill-stage.materiell.net).

CTE Information Technology and Computer Science & Web Development

The HHS CTE Information Technology and Computer Science & Web Development students participated in a job shadow day with HPS Technology!  It was a great opportunity for them to see the various jobs required to make HPS technology run so smoothly.  Students spent time hearing from the Networking group, System Integration and the Technicians.  They were amazed that such a small team can get so much work done for the district!  Several students had an opportunity to see where they will spend time this summer during their Chromebook Repair internship!  Thank you to the HPS Technology group for everything you do to support our students!  For more information about work-based learning opportunities (guest speakers, tours, job shadow days and internships) for the CTE programs, contact Lisa Hunt (lhunt@haverhill-stage.materiell.net).
