Dear Haverhill Families,
As we look ahead to the coming days, the forecast calls for bitterly cold temperatures. School will be in session, and we encourage all students to bundle up and dress in layers whenever possible.
In recent days, we’ve noticed some students arriving without proper winter coats. When temperatures hover in the 30s, it can be challenging to determine whether this is a fashion choice or a lack of winter clothing — and we understand that it can be difficult for families to communicate when they are struggling. Please let us help.
If your child needs a warm coat, gloves, boots, or other winter gear, please contact your school’s adjustment counselor, parent liaison, or main office. We are here to support families, and we will work with you to ensure your child has what they need to stay warm. Already this week, Haverhill High School has distributed 45 coats and 20 additional items, such as boots and mittens.
If you are in a position to donate gently used winter items or gift cards to local retailers, such as Target or Burlington Coat Factory, please contact your school. Your generosity makes a real difference.
Thank you for your partnership and for helping us keep all of our students safe and warm.
Warm regards,
Dr. Marotta
